I think I came across it once or twice in some English-language books about Japanese history. Given the scope of the disaster, I'm honestly quite surprised that it isn't as talked about as it should be - after all, it's a landmark case for toxic waste management - but this IS the Japanese government we're talking about. They tend to downplay too much. :P
